With so much beauty going on just outside of your door, it would be a shame not to incorporate some of those aspects indoors. Feel free to bring actual, physical elements that you find outside such as twigs, leaves and flowers into your home. These things can be used to make table centerpieces, wreathes and other fun things that can be used all throughout the home. This is especially perfect for those that like to get their hands dirty with DIY projects.

Not the type to hang dirty twigs in your home? No problem. You can take the cleaner route of simply incorporating the fun fall colors of various reds, oranges, yellows and browns all throughout the house. This can be done through throw pillows, vases, art work, hand towels, and more.

A pumpkin serves as the perfect accessory for just about any room in the home during the fall. It can be used as a table centerpiece, small accent on the kitchen counter or for a pop of color in a bathroom or hallway that needs an autumnal feel. And the best part is, you can turn these pumpkins into fun jack-o-lanterns once Halloween rolls around!

The fall season is all about being comfortable while staying warm as the weather cools. You’re trading in your flip flops for boots, tank tops for jackets and tying it all together with a scarf for those extra chilly nights. The same concept goes for the home.

Candles are a small yet effective start. Not only do they fill the room with delicious seasonal scents like pumpkin spice or cinnamon apple, the tiny flame represents warmth in itself. Next, switch out the light and airy window drapes that fit your summer décor with thicker or layered ones that add a sense of coziness in the room. Throw a rug into any room to let the thick, furry textures tie to coziness of the room all together. Rugs on a hardwood or tile floor will also keep your feet warm as you walk from room to room.

The beauty of the fall season calls for spending as much time outside as possible because the brutal frosts of the winter approach, making it nearly impossible to enjoy the outdoors unless it’s from your bedroom window. If you’re lucky enough to have useable outdoor space around your home such as patios, porches, or backyard decks, spend some time lounging around, admiring the fall beauty.

Adding various throws and blankets to these spots will make it more comfortable as the chilly air sets in. Since the sun is setting earlier and the days are shorter, add fun lanterns to extend your time enjoying these areas.
